The Center Avenue Neighborhood Residential District is a residential historic district located in Bay City, Michigan, running primarily along Center, Fifth, and Sixth Avenues between Monroe and Green Avenues, with additional portions of the district along Fourth between Madison and Johnson, down to Tenth Avenue between Madison and Lincoln, along Green to Ridge, and around Carroll Park.
Standing at the corner of Temple Lane South, the first pub on the site was reputedly licensed in the early 19th century. [2] The pub building at 48 Temple Bar is listed by Dublin City Council on its Record of Protected Structures, [3] and is recorded in the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (NIAH) as being built c. 1840. [4]

[4] Leon Tromblé is regarded as the first settler within the limits of Bay County, in an area which would become Bay City. In 1831, he built a log cabin on the east bank of the Saginaw river.
By 2004, the Bay City building was far too large for the local organization, and demolition of the 1893 building was considered. However, in 2005, the lodge made an agreement with the Bay City Arts Council, where the Council purchased the building and began to make necessary repairs and improvements. [ 2 ]
