Robert is a young boy who suffers from mathematical anxiety due to his boredom in school. His mother is Mrs. Wilson. He also experiences recurring dreams—including falling down an endless slide or being eaten by a giant fish—but is interrupted from this sleep habit one night by a small devil creature who introduces himself as the Number Devil.
In a few illustrations, there is a drawing of a fish (referring to Frank Lloyd Wright's lucky talisman) that he lost while building the Robie House. They appear in some chapters with the fibonacci sequence. On one of the last illustrations, a dragon can be found, expressing the change from carp to dragon in the story.

One character, Fiona, is given a choice to use it to free her father as well as the builder of the house, but ultimately chooses to free the spirits and destroys the nexus. Fibonacci was born around 1170 to Guglielmo, an Italian merchant and customs official. [3] Guglielmo directed a trading post in Bugia (Béjaïa), in modern-day Algeria. [16] Fibonacci travelled with him as a young boy, and it was in Bugia (Algeria) where he was educated that he learned about the Hindu–Arabic numeral system. [17] [7]
Fibonacci instead would write the same fraction to the left, i.e., . Fibonacci used a composite fraction notation in which a sequence of numerators and denominators shared the same fraction bar; each such term represented an additional fraction of the given numerator divided by the product of all the denominators below and to the right of it.
F, also called the Fibonacci factorial, where n is a nonnegative integer, is defined as the product of the first n positive Fibonacci numbers, i.e. !:= =,, where F i is the i th Fibonacci number, and 0! F gives the empty product (defined as the multiplicative identity, i.e. 1).
Verner Emil Hoggatt Jr. (June 26, 1921 – August 11, 1980) [1] [2] was an American mathematician, known mostly for his work in Fibonacci numbers and number theory. Hoggatt received a Ph.D. from Oregon State University in 1955 for his dissertation on The Inverse Weierstrass P-Function. [3]
Virahanka (Devanagari: विरहाङ्क) was an Indian prosodist who is also known for his work on mathematics. He may have lived in the 6th century, but it is also possible that he worked as late as the 8th century.
