As borough of Darmstadt, Eberstadt has no sister cities, as sister cities are a matter for the city as a whole (see Darmstadt's sister cities). In a development area at the southeastern border (Am Frankenstein district), some streets are named according to Darmstadt's sister cities, e.g. Chesterfieldstraße or Grazstraße.

Kranichstein is also the name of Jagdschloss Kranichstein. It was originally built in 1578 for Landgrave Georg I of Hesse-Darmstadt. The palace is one of the few preserved baroque hunters' courtyards in Germany. Today the facility houses a hunting museum and a hotel with restaurant.
Wixhausen is northernmost borough of the City of Darmstadt in southern Hesse, Germany. Covering an area of 23.247 km 2, in 2006 it had 5,772 inhabitants and 1,310 houses. [2] It is noted for the GSI heavy-ion research laboratory located there. The district of Darmstadt-Arheilgen is just South of Wixhausen.

Rödermark was founded on 1 January 1977 out of the up until this point self-administering communities of Ober-Roden and Urberach. On 23 August 1980, Rödermark was officially granted town rights. The name goes back to the late mediaeval communal forest (marca raodora) known as the Rödermark.
