If you subscribe to Sling, you can get them to send you a free network adapter. The adapter connects to your home TV antenna and your router. You can then watch local channels thru the Sling app on your TV Stream 4k. Even if you later stop paying for sling, you keep the adapter, and the locals will still work in the sling app.
Advantages versus Stream 4K I've seen already: 1. Dedicated Remote buttons for rew, play/pause, ff that actually work in the video apps I care about (Netflix, Prime Video and HBO NOW). 2. Much more responsive for pause/play, ff, rew remote presses, especially in Prime Video. 3.
The only way to get nearly every cable channel via a streaming service is to get DirecTV NOW. You'd need the top plan plus $5-$15 per premium for a grand total of over $100. DTVN does not run on Tivo, so you must use another device. Plus DTVN is limited to 2 streams and has no DVR capability.

About a minute into the video stream, I received a low bandwidth warning from the Prime Video app followed by stuttering that made the stream unwatchable. This issue seems to be exclusive to Prime Video because Netflix, Hulu, Plex, and DVR streams from the TiVo ...
Add Amazon Prime. There must be some way in an update to the Tivo to allow real time streaming of Amazon Prime content without permitting the programs to be recorded since Prime programming cannot be recorded. I prefer fewer set top boxes for streaming and my new Roku2 XS does not produce an audio feed in the HDMI when connected to my preamp ...

We have five different TVs. We would like to record from two or three of them. 4. We want to playback recordings for all five. 5.
FIOS has multiple sets of "favorite" channels. TIVO needs to have two or three distinct sets of favorites. Also allow the user to apply the favorites when "flipping" channels like on FIOS - I'd like to limit the flips to the favorites currently selected. I would say the FIOS guide is 99.9% accurate while the TIVO guide is in the 90% range.
