By 1958, Camrose had converted the old post office into the new city hall. In 1954, however, Camrose had sold the old town hall to the federal government, so in the interim the city council met for almost three years in the hall of the local Methodist Church. Camrose has continued to expand, even as the significance of the railroads waned.
With a land area of 3,291.75 km 2 (1,270.95 sq mi), it had a population density of 2.6/km 2 (6.7/sq mi) in 2021. [ 2 ] In the 2016 Census of Population conducted by Statistics Canada, Camrose County had a population of 8,458 living in 3,118 of its 3,492 total private dwellings, a 5.7% change from its 2011 population of 8,004.
