The district also includes one block of Lincoln Avenue on either side of North State Street. Thirty-one buildings and one object contribute to the historical integrity of the district, while nine recent buildings are considered intrusions. The contributing object is a c. 1950 metal plaque commemorating the site of the American House, an 1842 hotel.
The district encompasses an eight-block commercial area in downtown Morrison and includes 65 buildings, 53 of which are contributing buildings. Development in the district began in the 1850s, the same decade that Morrison was platted and incorporated, and continued through the mid-20th century.

The First National Bank Building, known locally as the Bresee Tower, is a historic bank building at 2-4 N.
