Electrostatic coating is a manufacturing process that employs charged particles to more efficiently paint a workpiece. Paint, in the form of either powdered particles or atomized liquid, is initially projected towards a conductive workpiece using normal spraying methods, and is then accelerated toward the work piece by a powerful electrostatic charge.

This process is industrially used for applying coatings to metal fabricated products. It has been widely used to coat automobile bodies and parts, tractors and heavy equipment, electrical switch gear, appliances, metal furniture, beverage containers, fasteners, and many other industrial products.
This process coats an object electrostatically and then cures it with heat, creating a finish harder and tougher than conventional paint. Originally used on metal manufactures, such as household appliances, aluminium extrusions, drum hardware, automobile parts, and bicycle frames, the practice of powder coating has been expanded to allow ...
According to EN 13523-0, a prepainted metal (or coil coated metal) is a ‘metal on which a coating material (e.g. paint, film…) has been applied by coil coating’.When applied onto the metallic substrate, the coating material (in liquid, in paste or powder form) forms a film possessing protective, decorative and/or other specific properties.
Lacquer being sprayed onto a cabinet. A coating is a covering that is applied to the surface of an object, or substrate. [1] The purpose of applying the coating may be decorative, functional, or both. [2]
Once water seeps through to the bare metal, oxidation will begin (plain steel will simply rust). [5] Metal primers might contain additional materials to protect against corrosion, such as sacrificial zinc. Primers are used on metal hydroxides/oxides to improve the surface condition and to encourage bonding. Without a primer, paint applied to ...
Metallic paint, which may also be called metal flake (or incorrectly named polychromatic), is a type of paint that is most common on new automobiles, but is also used for other purposes. Metallic paint can reveal the contours of bodywork more than non-metallic, or "solid" paint.
