Harvey Henderson Wilcox. Harvey Henderson Wilcox (c. 1832 – March 19, 1891) was an American landowner who registered the name Hollywood for his estate west of the city of Los Angeles in 1887. [1] Hollywood became the center of the movie industry of the United States in the early 1910s.
