Hell Girl is a Japanese anime series produced by Studio Deen in three seasons between 2005 and 2009, with a fourth season airing in 2017. The plot follows a girl named Ai Enma, also known as the Jigoku Shōjo or Hell Girl, and her group of followers as they carry out her duty of striking contracts that involve ferrying hated souls to Hell.
A fourth season, Hell Girl: The Fourth Twilight (地獄少女 宵伽, Jigoku Shōjo: Yoi no Togi), spanning 12 episodes, of which the later 6 are rebroadcasts of episodes from previous seasons, aired from July 14 to September 29, 2017, on MBS and Tokyo MX, with the main cast reprising their roles. [5]
In Episode 5 of 'Yoi no Togi', Michiru slowly remembers everything about her. Michiru, also known as Sagae Michiru (寒河江ミチル) was the daughter of a man from an electric company in a small town. The son of the landlord (who was influenced by his parents' jealousy), forced her to follow him and his two lackeys to a pond in the jungle.
The song was also the theme and inspiration of movie Humoresque ~Sakasama no Chō~ (2006), and featured within episode 6 of the 2006/2007 anime Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori. The opening theme for Jigoku Shōjo's second season, NightmaRe , was also performed and co-written by SNoW, and was released as a single on December 6, 2006.
