In Electrical Engineering , a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) is a shunt-connected, reactive compensation device used on transmission networks. It uses power electronics to form a voltage-source converter that can act as either a source or sink of reactive AC power to an electricity network.
Wombourne is a civil parish in the district of South Staffordshire, Staffordshire, England. It contains 29 listed buildings that are recorded in the National Heritage List for England . Of these, five are at Grade II*, the middle of the three grades, and the others are at Grade II, the lowest grade.
It does this by giving an accurate measurement of the ambient atmospheric pressure (static pressure) well clear of the aircraft's fuselage. The trailing cone system trails at least one fuselage length behind the aircraft (SpaceAge Control) via a high-strength pressure tube. Static pressure is measured forward of the cone by several static ports.

The static equilibrium of a particle is an important concept in statics. A particle is in equilibrium only if the resultant of all forces acting on the particle is equal to zero. In a rectangular coordinate system the equilibrium equations can be represented by three scalar equations, where the sums of forces in all three directions are equal ...
The system rotates without requiring the application of any external force or couple, other than that required to support its weight. If a system is initially unbalanced, to avoid the stress upon the bearings caused by the centrifugal couple, counterbalancing weights must be added. This is seen when a bicycle wheel gets a buckled rim.
In order to distinguish between this and the situation when a system under equilibrium is perturbed and becomes unstable, it is preferable to use the phrase partly constrained here. In this case, the two unknowns V A and V C can be determined by resolving the vertical force equation and the moment equation simultaneously. The solution yields ...
The DC-10 used Honeywell's digital air data system in 1969 [13] and the F-14 CADC used on the F-14 in 1970 used custom integrated circuits. From the late 1980s much of the USAF and USN aircraft fleets were retrofitted with the GEC Avionics Rochester-developed Standard Central Air Data Computer (SCADC).
