Yentl is a soundtrack album to the film of the same name by American singer Barbra Streisand.It was released on November 8, 1983, by Columbia Records. [1] The album was produced by Streisand and Alan and Marilyn Bergman, and arranged and conducted by Michel Legrand.
She is also known for her hit "Any Empty Wine Bottles For Sale" (酒矸倘賣無), the widely popular soundtrack to the Taiwanese film Papa, Can You Hear Me Sing. [2] Her popularity in Asia was equated with that of counterpart Teresa Teng, when her hit song "Follow Your Feelings" (跟着感覺走) became hugely popular in the late 1980s. [3]
The song is referenced several times in Deadpool 2 where a running joke is made out of the title character Wade Wilson / Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) noticing, the "obvious" similarities between it and the song "Papa, Can You Hear Me?" from the film Yentl. As he is dying towards the end of the film, Deadpool sings the song's chorus to his teammates.
