A ward is a local authority area, typically used for electoral purposes. In some countries, wards are usually named after neighbourhoods, thoroughfares, parishes, landmarks, geographical features and in some cases historical figures connected to the area (e.g. William Morris Ward in the London Borough of Waltham Forest, England).
There are more than 600 city, local, and exempted village school districts providing K-12 education in Ohio. There are also about four dozen joint vocational school districts which are separate from the K-12 districts. The borders of the school district do not strictly follow county, township, or municipal borders.

It was a successor of the defunct Kericho East Constituency (1963-1988). It was one of the three constituencies of Kericho District. The constituency was established for the 1988 elections. It was later divided into Kipkelion East Constituency and Kipkelion West Constituency, both part of Kericho County.

Michael D. Polensek (born November 16, 1949) is a City Council member in Cleveland, Ohio, representing Ward 8.He has served in Cleveland City Council since 1977. He lives in the North Shore Collinwood area of Cleveland with his wife, Kathy, and has five children: Lisa, Deana, Michael, Lauren and Andrew.
