The Roswell and Elizabeth Garst Farmstead Historic District is a farm in Guthrie County, Iowa, United States, near the city of Coon Rapids. It is significant as the home of farmer and hybrid corn populizer Roswell Garst. During the 1930s and 1940s, Garst played an active role in the conversion of old-style family farms to modern agribusiness.

Iowa Select Farms was founded by Jeff Hansen, son of a farmer, with his wife Deb Hansen. Starting in Jeff Hansen's father's barn in Iowa Falls, Hardin County in the 1970s, the Hansens hog operation grew, after which they founded Modern Hog Concepts, supplying equipment to other hog farms. [2]
The farm was originally 600 acres (240 ha) and grew to be 1,300 acres (530 ha). [2] The portion of the farm in this historic district has been reduced to 350 acres (140 ha). It includes the original brick farmhouse and barn. Martin Flynn bought the land in 1867. Flynn was a livestock judge, cattle breeder, businessman, and railroad contractor.
