Lorenzo Ruiz (Filipino: Lorenzo Ruiz ng Maynila; Chinese: 李樂倫; Spanish: Lorenzo Ruiz de Manila; November 28, 1594 – September 29, 1637), also called Saint Lorenzo of Manila, was a Filipino Catholic layman and a member of the Third Order of Saint Dominic.

The fresco on the cupola of the apse Glory of St Dominic (1613–1615), depicting the ascent of the saint into heaven, is a baroque masterpiece by Guido Reni, the artistic value of this fresco matches that of the underlying Ark of St Dominic.
At the southern portion of the church complex is a restaurant operated by the church; Café Inggo 1587. It opened in 2017, featuring Spanish and Filipino cuisines. It was named after the localized nickname of the patron saint of the church and the founder of the Order of Preachers, St. Dominic. [14]
