The West Indies won the first Wisden Trophy in 1963 and held the cup until 1968. England then held the trophy for a brief period between 1968 and 1973. After the 1973 series the West Indies retained the trophy for 27 years. [1] This included a 16-year period (1974–1990) where the West Indies did not lose a Test.
