Albert Franklin Yeager (1892 - November 4, 1961) was an American horticulturalist. [1] From his work developing hardy vegetables and fruits at the North Dakota Agricultural College (NDAC) and the North Dakota Agricultural Experiment Station (NDAES), he was known as the "plant wizard of the north" and the " Luther Burbank of North Dakota."
Yeager was born February 13, 1923, in Myra, West Virginia, [2] to farming parents Albert Hal Yeager (1896–1963) and Susie Mae Yeager (née Sizemore; 1898–1987). [3] When he was five years old, his family moved to Hamlin, West Virginia.
