  2. Tool Lateralus on vinyl - AVForums

    www.avforums.com/threads/tool-lateralus-on-vinyl.1180684

Personally, they never bother me that much, but there you go. Anyway, on a whim, I splashed out on Tools Lateralus on vinyl. It's not the Picture disc (they are normally crap sonically), it's a 180g black vinyl copy. The biggest complaint is a shut in sound and poor dynamics on the CD.

As I've said, owning both Denon DCD 2500 and the Marantz sa8005 the Denon is superior. It will be better on redbooks simply because SACDs are able to get more information out of the disc. I've also owned a Marantz cd6006 which shares the same DAC as the sa8005 and redbook presentation of the sa8005 was a lot better.

  9. JBL BAR 1300 Soundbar Review - AVForums

    www.avforums.com/reviews/jbl-bar-1300-soundbar-review.21286

Design, Connections and Control. In its 'basic' form, with the rear speakers attached to the main soundbar, the JBL Bar 1300 isn't very pretty by soundbar standards. It's big (1376 (w) x 60 (h) x 139 (d) mm), features unimaginative straight edges and lines, and wears a hard plastic finish that has zero interest in trying to inject any softness ...

  10. Rega Planar 3 Turntable Review - AVForums

Sound Quality. Having assembled the Planar 3 - a process that is admirably simple by the standards of any piece of audio gear let alone a turntable - the Rega has a fair bit to prove. The good news for all concerned is that the Planar 3 is good - seriously good. An oft repeated line by various publications over the years is that this Rega model ...
