The Hyosung GT650 Comet is a motorcycle manufactured by Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc. [3] It is available in naked (GT650), half-fairing (GT650S), and full-fairing (GT650R) variants. Cycle World recorded a tested 0-60mph time of 4.2 sec. and a 1/4 mile time of 12.84 sec. @ 102.22 mph. [ 1 ]
The GT250R came out at the same time and although it seems it never officially had the "Comet" suffix, early fairings do seem to have Comet stickers. Specs are mostly the same, making the appearance the main difference between the two. The Hyosung GT250R is a 249 cc (15.2 cu in) motorcycle manufactured by Hyosung Motors & Machinery Inc.
All models in the Comet series are designated by model codes in the form GTxxxs with xxx representing the approximate engine displacement in cubic centimetres, and R or S being optional suffixes designating the motorcycle style (full fairing and half fairing respectively, being the default a naked bike).
The James Comet was a 98 cubic centimetre (cc), two-stroke, motorcycle manufactured by the James Cycle Co. and announced on 21 October 1948. A post- World War II design, the Comet went into production in late 1948.
James produced the 98 cc Autocycle, 98cc Comet, Commodore, also 1954/55 Colonel 225cc Villiers single cylinder, several Captains as well as trials and scrambles bikes.In 1956 they produced the Captain 200 K7, Cotswold 200 K7C, and Commando 200 K7T, all 197 cc.
