Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan (Arabic: خليفة بن زايد بن سلطان آل نهيان; 7 September 1948 – 13 May 2022) [3] [4] was the second president of the United Arab Emirates and the ruler of Abu Dhabi, serving from November 2004 until his death in May 2022. [5]
It is noted as the birthplace of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the former Ruler of Abu Dhabi and President of the U.A.E. (2004–2022), and where his father and predecessor, Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, was based during his tenure as the Ruler's Representative of the Eastern Region of the Emirate. [3] [4] [5]
The Qatari–Abu Dhabi War was a series of territorial disputes and military conflicts between Qatar, led by Sheikh Jassim bin Mohammed Al Thani, and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, under Sheikh Zayed bin Khalifa Al Nahyan. Saqr bin Zayed Al Nahyan was the Ruler of Abu Dhabi from 1926 to 1928.
