Autometer in the racecar, after a year or so the Trans Temp gauge rapidly bangs left to right, unusable, all the other AM gauges work excellent. Have SW (Wings ) in the hot rod since built in 2012, with no issue, EXCEPT initially the water temp gauge read 20-30 degrees hotter than the engine was actually running.

So when running a turbo 350 without a kickdown cable, I always thought you could just remove the cable (obviously) and the detent that goes to the valve body and just plug the hole. Then, I had a guy tell me that his tranny guy told him (stick with me here) that you'll burn up the tranny with no kick down. Said with no kick down cable at all ...
Yeah, I had forgotten that some of the many-cylindered classics had 'em. I brought this up mainly to focus on the visual impact of "pipes", but the sound is an even bigger part of their appeal. The burble of a flathead, the rumble of an Olds, or the bomber-like rap of an I6 with duals are definitely a major part of the hot rod experience.
1) If you use a 10 ohm resistor, it is going to be at least 15 watts. Using Ohm's laws I= E/R so if E = 12V and R = 10, then I (Amps) = 1.2 amp. Next take P (watts) = E x I, so 12V x 1.2amp = 14.4 Watts. As I said resistor will be more than 15 watts (huge in size).
A ford-o-matic doesnt have a vacuum modulator that is on later model transmissions, a vacuum modulator does exactly what the throttle pressure rod is supposed to do,tells the trans when to shift properly this throttle pressure rod is what they used before they started using vacuum modulators. HERES a picture i found of the linkage (gray part ...
