Essential Functions. Assists the County Manager in planning, coordinating, organizing, and directing county operations. Manages special assignments involving sensitive and/or complex issues. Assists in the evaluation of County programs and departmental operations.
Work experience in North Carolina elections at the County staff level. Graduation from a four-year college or university and three (3) years of experience in the planning and management of a business or governmental program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Attends case staffing, unit meetings and Division Meetings. Completes all mandatory preservice training and 24 hours of additional training per year of service. Serves as a part of the Craven County Civil Defense team in the area of shelter management in the event of a natural or man-made disaster.

Craven County is recruiting Detentions Officers. Selected candidates may be classified as Detention Officer I, Detention Officer II or Detention Officer III depending upon education, experience, qualifications, and certification.
Assist with review of employment applications, interviews, and recommendations for potential new hires. 40% Program Coordinator. Coordination and oversight of volunteer program. Coordination and oversight of rescue program. Continuously network to build existing and develop new working relationships with rescue groups.
