    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/excalibur...

What is the difference between the alkaline water-resistant battery pod and the rechargeable waterproof battery pod ? I assume it's in the seal, but can the alkaline pod be made to be waterproof and converted to a rechargeable pod ?

  3. Garrett AT Pro vs. Garrett AT Max - Friendly Metal Detecting...

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/garrett-at-pro...

Oct 27, 2021. #1. The Garrett AT (All-Terrain) series of metal detectors features the Garrett AT Pro, the Garrett AT Gold, and the Garrett AT Max. The most common concern among potential buyers is figuring out the differences between the Garrett AT Pro vs. Max metal detectors. When detectorists are trying to figure out whether or not they ...

  4. Garrett AT Max vs Minelab 800 - Friendly Metal Detecting Forum

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/garrett-at-max...

Sep 10, 2024. #30. Equinox 800 is a multi-frequency and is a huge step up. Multi-frequency allows you to hunt mineralized ground better and saltwater beaches. Single frequencies just really struggle there. Never had a problem with mineralized ground. I rarely hunt beaches, but never had any issues there either.

  5. Teknetics T2 SE vs XP Deus vs Garrett ATX - Friendly Metal...

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/teknetics-t2-se...

The issue you will have with the T2 and Deus is they are single Freq. and will not work well in salt sand, the issue with the T2 is it's not waterproof and would be tough to make waterproof for shallow water hunting. If waterproof is not 100% necessary I like the White's V3i for the types of hunting you described as it's a very versatile ...

  6. Vanquish 440 or Nokta Simplex? | Friendly Metal Detecting Forum

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/vanquish-440-or...

I've found the 440 works much better than the vanquish on salt beaches. The main drawback is the 440 is not water proof so a lot of care must be used near the surf. Both are all around great detectors but the 440 is an accident waiting to happen near the water. So, 440 better in the salt.

  7. at max vs at pro - Friendly Metal Detecting Forum

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/at-max-vs-at-pro...

Both are waterproof to 10 feet - the main detector box, shaft and coil. I use the AT Pro and have never water detected so don't know which headphones to recommend. The Max is like the AT Pro, just hopped up on steroids. I would NOT advise getting a Max, the Pro is far superior in tones, the Max sounds horrid, both have similar capabilities.

  8. Update on Nokta's PI's...and yes, they'll be submersible.

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/update-on-noktas...

One is for nugget hunting - same BS , one for relic , again & again the beach/water hunter is forgotten. Whatever manufacturer comes out with a new waterproof Pi for Beach / water hunting I will buy one. In the video I mentioned, the Nokta rep also referred to one of those two PIs as also being a beach detector, but both are submersible.

  9. AT Pro VS. Tesoro Tejon - Friendly Metal Detecting Forum

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/at-pro-vs-tesoro...

Aug 6, 2014. #15. I own both and I can honestly say the only thing comparable about these two machines is the price. Multi tone vs single tone, DD coil vs concentric, beep and dig vs display, the Garrett is waterproof, the Tesoro has the longer warranty. I prefer the AT Pro. I use it more than I do the Tejon.

  10. New Member Looking for Help | Friendly Metal Detecting Forum

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/new-member...

    4. Feb 7, 2024. #1. Hello everyone, New member from the UK here. I am yet to buy myself a metal detector, and before I need some opinions. My main interest at the moment is the Reflex G6, apparently detecting up to a meter, and on sale at the moment for 250 GBP, down from 399.95, which sounds like a good deal to me.

  11. Garrett at gold vs. fisher goldbug dp

    metaldetectingforum.com/index.php?threads/garrett-at-gold...

I have 100% confidence in the Fisher as it was consistantly able to find the smallest balls of foil 12 " deep. I'm not sure if its the 19 kHz Fisher uses out performs the 15 kHz that Garrett uses or just something else. I can't wait to try it hunting natural gold but the insurance of a waterproof machine will be missed.
