"Do Anything" is the debut single of American pop group Natural Selection. The song was written by group members Elliot Erickson and Frederick Thomas, who also produced the track, and the rap was written and performed by Ingrid Chavez .
The song sat unfinished until Erickson began working on it again in 1989. The rap was originally recorded by Ingrid Chavez , a friend of the duo who improvised the rap in the studio. In 1990, the version with Chavez doing the raps was a local hit on Minnesota's WLOL-FM , where Erickson worked as a remix engineer.
While visiting the label's recording studios on Sunset Boulevard, Crosby was asked to provide guide vocals for Meat Loaf, who was recording the song "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)". Cher, Melissa Etheridge and Bonnie Tyler were considered for the role. The song was a commercial success, becoming number one in 28 countries. [3]
