Dec 3, 2012. #16. schultp said: ALBOB: I am in the middle of changing my timing belt right now. Replace the water pump. If you have 120K on the original WP I don't think it is designed to last another 120K until you do the next timing belt. You already have ready access and it makes sense to replace it while you have the opportunity.

205k miles is just barely broken in for a TDI engine. VW doesn't consider it to be high miles until past 500k miles. Oil change interval: 10k miles, no less. Fuel filter is due to be changed at 20k mile intervals. Engine air filter is changed at 40k mile intervals. Cabin air filter is changed at 40k mile intervals.
On a factory tune, of course, 40mg should mean 40mg pretty accurately. on a malone or other tune, 40mg might mean 32mg or it might mean 60mg in reality, and that will vary depending what you have and based on rpm.. A stage 1 or 2 fueling is just limited to something like “45mg”. Rest of tune is the same as a stage3.

Mar 26, 2014. #1. if you are like me, you will be glad you did. about to go on a long trip, towing my TDI behind a motorhome, and thought it might be a good idea to get the DSG fluid changed, at 29K miles. I had some jerk and stumble to it at low speed. Boy what a difference now. 4.45 litres later, it runs almost like a regular.
Seriously, of course it's necessary. Dealer service writers and repair shops haven't caught up with the DSG service intervals, and give uninformed responses that go back to "lifetime fill" conventional automatics. That transmission and its components are very expensive. IMO it would be foolhardy to ignore the manufacturer's recommended service.
although on your car a good hand held scanner will read codes , re set service intervals and get into systems such as abs , transmission , internal electrics , airbag etc I have a v gate scan , it cost 30$ second hand on e bay and worked great with both my 2002 and 2003 Passat tdi,s now I have a 2009 16v common rail and I had to by vcds.
1. Amp check from computer, through cars harness, through trans internal harness and through solenoids. Drawback: You have to pull computer, and you have to have a wire schematic to see which wires to hook to. 2. Amp check at solenoid connector on top of trans, through the internal harness and through the solenoids.
