A Texas man stumbled across the painting priced at $125 in a Covington thrift store. He was inspired to donate it to the Tubman Museum after discovering it was a late Macon artist’s original work.
Authenticated works by the artist can fetch between $500,000 and $1 million each. Roughly 80 works said to be produced by Haring were put on show in Miami in March 2013.
