On August 21, 2000 on a construction site near Concord Mills, a natural gas pipeline ruptured sending flames to heights of about 100 feet (30 m). [4] As a result of the explosion, law enforcement officials closed local roads around the mall and Interstate 85 around rush hour (4 p.m.); the roads were reopened one hour later after the situation was contained.
John Orley Allen Tate (November 19, 1899 – February 9, 1979), known professionally as Allen Tate, was an American poet, essayist, social commentator, and poet laureate from 1943 to 1944. Among his best known works are the poems " Ode to the Confederate Dead " (1928) and " The Mediterranean " (1933), and his only novel The Fathers (1938).
In 1993, Tate joined Jones Studio where he met his wife, Lisa Tate, who later founded Full Circle Custom Homes (2012). [1] After leaving Jones Studio in 1994, Tate and Lisa opened the wood shop, Red River Studios where they built custom furniture and cabinetry until 2000 when they closed the shop. [ 4 ]
The property had a main residence, guest house, pool, and 2-story garage. The main house had been occupied by various famous Hollywood and music industry figures. In 1994, both houses were demolished and a new house was constructed on the site, and the street address was changed to 10066 Cielo Drive.
