Malabo (/ m ə ˈ l ɑː b oʊ / mə-LAH-boh, Spanish: ⓘ; formerly Santa Isabel [ˈsantajsaˈβel] ⓘ) is the capital of Equatorial Guinea and the province of Bioko Norte.It is located on the north coast of the island of Bioko (Bube: Etulá, and as Fernando Pó by the Europeans).
Fa d'Ambô, a Portuguese creole, is in use in Annobón Province, in Malabo, and on Equatorial Guinea's mainland. Many residents of Bioko can also speak Spanish, particularly in the capital, and the local trade language, Pichinglis, an English-based creole. Spanish is not spoken much in Annobón.
Despite not having full political influence, King Malabo I symbolically served as the King of Bioko Island during his reign. His administration conducted bureaucratic gestures such as thanking Francisco Alimama Kashu, a native of Hyderabad, British India for his collaborating with local farms in improving farming techniques by giving him a 10-acre (40,000 m 2) plot of land in the village of Moka.
