The school was built in 1961 to a design by Edward H. Glidden, Jr., and is a well-preserved example of mid-century International style architecture. The school was closed by the Archdiocese of Baltimore in 1980. [2] The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2016. [1]
The library’s collections include 60,000 books, 800,000 photographs, 5 million manuscripts, 6,500 prints and broadsides, 1 million pieces of printed ephemera, extensive genealogy indexes, and more, reflecting the history of Maryland and its people. Baltimore Heritage, Inc. was founded in 1960, and Baltimore's nonprofit historic preservation advocacy organization. The organization has two staff members, thirty three volunteer board members and a host of volunteers who work to preserve and promote Baltimore's historic buildings and neighborhoods.
