No Colour Bar: Black British Art in Action 1960–1990 was a major public art and archives exhibition, the first of its kind in the UK, held at the Guildhall Art Gallery, City of London, over a six-month period (10 July 2015 – 24 January 2016), [1] with a future digital touring exhibition, and an associated programme of events. [2]
The guildhall contains a number of paintings by George Bouchier Richardson (1822–1877) of local scenes, including the Entrance to the Side, the Pandon Gate, the old Tyne Bridge, the old Maison de Dieu and the old Exchange. [12] The building has housed the Newcastle branch of the Hard Rock Cafe since the summer of 2021. [13]
The Guildhall Art Gallery houses the art collection of the City of London, England.The museum is located in the Moorgate area of the City of London. A curule seat probably designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel, made in carved wood and gilded ca. 1810 in Berlin, later restored and reupholstered by a private dealer. A curule seat is a design of a (usually) foldable and transportable chair noted for its uses in Ancient Rome and Europe through to the 20th century.

The guild members would occasionally be called to the guildhall for meetings on important matters. [13] [14] The guildhall of the merchants' guild also served as de facto commodity market.

Even of the ceilings conformed to the carved style. There are few grander effects in interior decoration than the intersecting curves and angles of a lofty old Elizabethan ceiling.
