CCET, formerly known as Central Polytechnic Chandigarh (CPC), was established in 1959. Founded as the Central Polytechnic Chandigarh (CPC) in 1959, Punjab Governor J. F. R. Jacob renamed the college in 2002 when it introduced two new engineering branches. CCET is the only technical college offering both diplomas and degrees in Chandigarh.
