Uno (/ ˈ uː n oʊ /; from Spanish and Italian for 'one'), stylized as UNO, is a proprietary American shedding-type card game originally developed in 1971 by Merle Robbins in Reading, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati, that housed International Games Inc., a gaming company acquired by Mattel on January 23, 1992.
Games with concealed rules are games where the rules are intentionally concealed from new players, either because their discovery is part of the game itself, or because the game is a hoax and the rules do not exist. In fiction, the counterpart of the first category are games that supposedly do have a rule set, but that rule set is not disclosed.
Bidding is non-auction; a player's first and only bid is binding. Bids are recorded by the scorekeeper. Four players can play in partnerships, while 6 players can play in pairs or teams of 3. In such cases, bids are summed to form a team bid. After bidding is finished, the player on the dealer's left selects and plays a single card from their hand.

If a player can't play a card, they must turn over one of their three time bombs, losing a life. If a player clears all cards in their hand, all other players flip one of their time bombs rendering them the winner. Whoever has all three of their time bomb cards flipped over is out of the game. The survivor wins.
