In 1991, 1995, and 2003 the Beavers won the Class "A" State Girls Basketball Championship. In 2016 the Beavers won the Class "A" Boys Track Championship. Also they won the boys 2006 State Cross Country State Champions for the first time ever. The girls volleyball and cross country received runner-up honors at state the same year.
Volleyball BCHS won the 1990 Alabama Football Playoff championship when the school was known as Jess Lanier High School by defeating Murphy High School of Mobile 22–0 in the title game. The Purple Tigers head coach at the time was Carroll Cox who in 21 years (1979–1999) as Jess Lanier's coach compiled a record of 162–77–2. [ 10 ]
BCHS is located on a 46-acre campus on the corner of Stockdale Highway and Allen Road, in the growing west side of Bakersfield. The facilities feature highlights such as the Media Center, Student Union, Fine Arts Center and a Sports Center which houses one of the largest high school gymnasiums in Kern County.

Benton Consolidated High School (BCHS) is a public high school located in Benton, Illinois, United States. The campus is located in a city setting on Benton's east side, and has been operating (though in separate buildings) since 1888.
The new BCHS drew students from the former Keystone School District, Van Horne School District, Newhall School District and Blairstown School District. [2] Beginning in 1967, BCHS absorbed students from the former Elberon Independent School District. [2] In a controversial 1991 decision, nearby Norway High School was merged into BCHS. [3]
