The Pöstlingberg (German pronunciation: [ˈpœstlɪŋˌbɛʁk] ⓘ) is a 539-metre (1,768 ft) high hill on the left bank of the Danube in the city of Linz, Austria. It is a popular tourist destination, with a viewing platform over the city, and is the site of the Pöstlingberg pilgrimage church, and the Linz Grottenbahn.
Upper Austria borders Germany and the Czech Republic, as well as the other Austrian states of Lower Austria, Styria, and Salzburg. With an area of 11,982 km 2 (4,626 sq mi) and 1.49 million inhabitants, Upper Austria is the fourth-largest Austrian state by land area and the third-largest by population.
As of 2007, the total number of tourist overnight stays is roughly the same for summer and winter season, with peaks in February and July/August.
