The Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science is the engineering school of Yale University.When the first professor of civil engineering was hired in 1852, a Yale School of Engineering was established within the Yale Scientific School, and in 1932 the engineering faculty organized as a separate, constituent school of the university.
The Graduate School administers 75 degree-granting programs. 56 of these programs grant Ph.D.s., while 19 terminate in master's degrees. [7] It also offers joint-degree programs with several of Yale's professional schools, as well as opportunities for advanced non-degree study.

Schlag obtained his PhD at the California Institute of Technology in 1996 under the supervision of Thomas Wolff.Since then, he has held positions at Princeton University, California Institute of Technology and the University of Chicago where he was H.
