Fort Saskatchewan is a city along the North Saskatchewan River in Alberta, Canada.It is 25 kilometres (16 mi) northeast of Edmonton, the provincial capital.It is part of the Edmonton census metropolitan area and one of 24 municipalities that constitute the Edmonton Metropolitan Region Board.
The third Fort Carlton (1810–1885) was built on the south bank of the North Saskatchewan at the Great Crossing Place, a ford of that river. John Peter Pruden [ 7 ] was master (1814–1815), master and trader (1815–1820), and chief trader (1821–1837) except for a brief furlough to London in 1824–1825.

Fort Pitt Provincial Park is a provincial park in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It includes the site of Fort Pitt, a trading post built in 1829 by the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) on the North Saskatchewan River in Rupert's Land.
A length of it still survives, at the old Krebs homestead east of Fort Saskatchewan. [1] The distance in total the trail travelled between Fort Garry to Upper Fort des Prairies (Edmonton) was approximately 900 miles (1,450 km). Many smaller trails jutted off from the main trail, such as the Fort à la Corne Trail in the Saskatchewan Valley.

A significant portion of Highway 15 between Fort Saskatchewan and Edmonton is currently only two lanes. This has caused headaches for local commuters; more than 23,000 vehicles cross the bridge between Sturgeon County and Fort Saskatchewan daily (a 50% increase since 2009), and there have also been several fatal collisions in recent years. [4]
