The Old Mount Dora A. C. L. Railroad Station (also known as the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce) is a historic Atlantic Coast Line Railroad (ACL) depot in Mount Dora, Florida. It is located at 341 North Alexander Street.
The Tavares, Eustis & Gulf Railroad (TE&G), advertised as the Orange Blossom Cannonball, was a tourist railroad company operating excursion trains on historic track owned by the Florida Central Railroad, [1] from October 2011 to late March 2017.
The Mount Dora Meteor was day time excursion train that departed from the railway's Mount Dora depot. Narrated by the conductor, passengers embarked on a 1.5 hour, ten mile round trip excursion between the towns of Mount Dora and Tavares. Sights included: Lake Dora, Lake Gertrude, The Golden Triangle, and several orange groves.

The line from Tavares to Mt. Dora was chartered as the Sanford & Lake Eustis Railway Co. in 1885. Construction began in Sanford in 1885 and its rails passed through Sylvan Lake, Sorrento, and Mount Dora before reaching Tavares in 1887. [1] The line crossed the Orange Belt Railway in Sylvan Lake and was constructed to 4 ft 9 in (1,448 mm) gauge
The Orange Belt Railway was completed in 1886 and the Florida Midland Railway was completed around the same time. Those lines would also become part of the Plant System and the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad. The line from Ocoee to Winter Garden was built by the Tavares and Gulf Railroad, which was a subsidiary of the Seaboard Air Line Railroad.
In March 2003, the BDRV acquired an Ex-New Haven Brill motorcar, M-55, from the Valley Railroad in Essex, Connecticut, and they contracted with the Edward Railway Motor Car Company in Mount Dora, Florida, to have it restored to operating condition. [3] It was subsequently used on the Mt. Dora Scenic Railroad before being moved to the BDRV. [3]
