State Route 22 (SR 22) is a 19.4-mile (31.2 km) state highway located in southwestern Maine. It serves the western suburbs of Portland, running from SR 35 in Buxton east into the city, where it ends at SR 77.

Near West Buxton, SR 112 begins to closely parallel the Saco River and turn to the north. [2] After passing through West Buxton, SR 112 turns towards the northeast and intersects SR 22. The road leaves Buxton and enters Gorham, Cumberland County. It continues northeast before coming to an intersection with SR 25.
It travels north through Buxton and Hollis, running concurrently with U.S. Route 202 (US 202) and SR 4 for 2 miles (3.2 km). It turns off and continues through the towns of Hollis, Limington, and Waterboro. From there, SR 117 travels concurrently with SR 25 for 3 miles (4.8 km), entering Cornish, then turns off.
SR 25 begins west of Porter, where NH 25 crosses the Maine-New Hampshire border. The western part of the highway runs along the Ossipee River on the southern edge of town. SR 25 intersects and overlaps with SR 160 before crossing the river, passing through the extreme northeast corner of Parsonsfield en route to Cornish , where it meets SR 5 .
