Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) is an Indian public sector undertaking [3] engaged in raising financial resources for expansion and running through capital markets and other borrowings. [ 4 ] [ 5 ] The Government of India owns a majority stake in the company, while the Ministry of Railways has administrative control.
All three companies are owned by the Indian Ministry of Railways. IRSDC was incorporated on 12 April 2012. [1] On 18 October 2021, as part of a measure to rationalise railway bodies, the Railway Board announced that it would shut down IRSDC, and transfer the stations under its management to the respective zonal railways.
