Herman retired from Coors China in 1946, and was succeeded by his son Robert M. Coors (1920–2004). Robert's brother Dallas Morse Coors (1917–1996) was the VP. Robert retired in 1978, and sold the 125-employee company to Standex International Corporation.

The Mimbreños congregated along and settled the Mimbres River. The Mimbreños were a sub-tribe of Apache, Native Americans, who were based in New Mexico.Their territory included the narrow valley of the Mimbres River to the Rio Grande into the Mimbres Mountains and the Cook's Range.
Coors was the manager of the Coors Porcelain Company, and in 1921 moved to Inglewood, California where he established the H.F. Coors China Company to manufacture porcelain dishware. The house was then purchased by banker Edward A. Phinney, who owned the Rubey National Bank in Golden.
