Brandywine School District (abbreviated BSD) is a public school district in northern New Castle County, Delaware in the United States. It serves Arden , Ardencroft , Ardentown , Bellefonte , Claymont , Edgemoor , [ 1 ] Talleyville , [ 2 ] and a northeast portion of the city of Wilmington . [ 1 ]
It is one of three high schools in the Brandywine School District. [1] There was a total of 1,014 students enrolled in the fall for the 2024–2025 school year. [ 3 ] Kevin Palladinetti is the current principal of Concord High School.
Notable buildings include the Gothic Revival style St. John's Episcopal Church (1857-1858) designed by noted Philadelphia architect John Notman, Brandywine Methodist Episcopal Church (1857), and Brandywine Academy (1798). In 1788, Brandywine Village was the site of the first mechanized mill designed by Oliver Evans. [2] [3]
Brandywine High School is a public secondary school located near Talleys Corner [2] in unincorporated New Castle County, Delaware, with a Wilmington postal address. [ 3 ] [ 4 ] Although the school is not within the Wilmington city limits, it does serve some parts of the city north of the Brandywine River . [ 5 ]
The Brandywine Center campus is located on Boot Road in Downingtown, Pennsylvania. Opened in fall 2012, the 175,000 sq ft (16,300 m 2) building sits on 8.7 acres (0.035 km 2). The campus partners with the CCIU to offer career and technical education programs as well as college credit courses to students of Technical College High School Brandywine.

The Brandywine School was a style of illustration—as well as an artists colony in Wilmington, Delaware and in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, near the Brandywine River—both founded by artist Howard Pyle (1853–1911) at the end of the 19th century.
