Has been named the “Heart nebula” because of its resemblance to a human heart. Henize 70 (N70 or DEM L301) [31] 300 ly (92 pc) [32] H II region: The N 70 Nebula, in the Large Magellanic Cloud has a shell structure and is really a bubble in space. It is a "Super Bubble". Barnard's Loop: 300 ly (92 pc) [33] [34] H II region
View of several proplyds within the Orion Nebula taken by the Hubble Space Telescope Star Formation Fireworks in Orion. The Orion Nebula is an example of a stellar nursery where new stars are being born. Observations of the nebula have revealed approximately 700 stars in various stages of formation within the nebula.
The following articles contain lists of nebulae: List of dark nebulae; List of diffuse nebulae; List of planetary nebulae; List of protoplanetary nebulae;
The Sun; Sirius A with Sirius B, a white dwarf; the Crab Nebula, a remnant supernova A black hole (artist concept); Vela Pulsar , a rotating neutron star M80 , a globular cluster , and the Pleiades , an open star cluster
The number of nebulae was then greatly increased by the efforts of William Herschel and his sister, Caroline Herschel. Their Catalogue of One Thousand New Nebulae and Clusters of Stars [16] was published in 1786. A second catalog of a thousand was published in 1789, and the third and final catalog of 510 appeared in 1802.
The overall nebula with smaller hole shown in context. NGC 1999, also known as The Cosmic Keyhole, [1] [2] is a dust-filled bright nebula with a vast hole of empty space represented by a black patch of sky, as can be seen in the photograph. It is a reflection nebula, and shines from the light of the variable star V380 Orionis.
The nebula is rich in carbon, and is a very interesting object for the study of carbon chemistry in dense molecular material exposed to strong ultraviolet radiation. [18] The spectrum of NGC 7027 contains fewer spectral lines from neutral molecules than is usual for planetary nebulae.
