Prosperous Suzhou (simplified Chinese: 姑苏 繁华 图; traditional Chinese: 姑蘇 繁華 圖; pinyin: Gūsū Fánhuá Tú), originally entitled Burgeoning Life in a Resplendent Age (simplified Chinese: 盛世 滋生 图; traditional Chinese: 盛世 滋生 圖; pinyin: Shèngshì Zīshēng Tú), is an 18th-century scroll painting created in 1759 by the Chinese court painter Xu Yang.
Lan Clan of Gusu (姑苏蓝氏) is a cultivation clan based in the Cloud Recesses (云深不知处), a residence on a remote mountain outside the city of Gusu. All disciples wear a white band across their foreheads. Additional embroidery of the clan emblem adorns the headbands of inner disciples, who are from the inner family.
Born in Inazawa, Takanori Ogisu was the son of a landowner in the Nagoya region. Ogisu went to Tokyo in 1920 to become a painter. He studied at the Kawabata painting school (川端 画 学校, Kawabata Gagakkō) under Fujishima Takeji, then went to the Tokyo School of Fine Arts (precursor of Tōkyō Geijutsu Daigaku), where he graduated in 1929.
