Blackwater (Irish: An Abhainn Dubh, meaning 'the black river') [3] is a rural village in County Wexford, Ireland.It lies mostly within the townland of Ballynaglogh (Irish: Baile na gCloch, meaning 'the town of the stones') on the R742 regional road 16 km (9.9 mi) north of Wexford town.
Codd was educated at St Peter's College, Wexford; and the Irish College, Rome. [2] He was ordained priest on 24 April 1889. and appointed a teacher at his old school, rising to be its head. In 1912 he became Parish Priest at Blackwater, County Wexford. [3] He was the Bishop of Ferns from 1917 until his death. [4]
