Immaculate Conception church, locally known as Jesuit church, is a Roman Catholic church in the Central Business District of New Orleans, Louisiana. The church is located at 130 Baronne Street, and is part of the local Jesuit community. The present church, completed in 1930, is a near duplicate of an earlier 1850s church on the same site. [1]

The former Immaculate Conception Convent, 3037 Dauphine Street, New Orleans, in 2009. The first parish was organized in 1869. [3] Pope Benedict XV erected the Diocese of Lafayette in Louisiana on January 11, 1918, with territory taken from the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The new diocese included the Lake Charles area for the next 62 years. The Church of the Immaculate Conception in Lake Charles was built in 1913. [3]
