Kirkby Malham is a small village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. Situated in the Yorkshire Dales it lies 6 miles (9.7 km) east of Settle. The population of the civil parish as taken in the 2011 Census (including Hanlith and Scosthrop) was 202. [1] Nearby settlements include Hanlith, Malham, Airton and Calton.
The civil parish is formed by the villages of Roos, Hilston and Tunstall, together with the hamlet of Owstwick. [4] According to the 2011 UK census, Roos parish had a population of 1,168, [1] an increase on the 2001 UK census figure of 1,113. [5] The parish covers an area of 2,333.222 hectares (5,765.52 acres). [6]

Tadcaster is a market town and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, 15 miles (24 km) north-east of Leeds and 10 miles (16 km) south-west of York.. Its historical importance from Roman times onward was largely as the lowest road crossing-point on the River Wharfe until the construction of the A64 Tadcaster by-pass some 660 yards (600 m) to the south, in 1978.
