FM 28 runs concurrently with these highways for about one mile (1.6 km) before again heading north, reaching its northern terminus at County Roads 200 and 303. FM 28 was designated in Floyd County on June 23, 1942, from US 70 to Dougherty. On July 21, 1949, FM 28 was extended to the Crosby County line, adding approximately 8.2 miles (13.2 km).
Farm to Market Road 521 (FM 521) is located in Southeast Texas. It runs from US 90 Alt. in Houston as Almeda Road to SH 35 near Palacios. At nearly 95 miles (153 km), FM 521 is one of the longest farm-to-market roads in Texas. FM 521 was designated on July 9, 1945, from SH 36 in Brazoria to SH 35 at Bailey's Prairie.
It continues into Harris County, straddling the Houston city limits as it intersects the Sam Houston Tollway (Beltway 8). The route then runs through southern Houston before intersecting I-610. FM 865 then crosses railroad tracks before ending at US 90 Alt. Cullen Boulevard continues as a city street from here to Brays Bayou. [98]
The first use of the FM 2299 designation was in Moore County, from SH 152, 4.5 miles (7.2 km) west of the Hutchinson County line, to a point 4.7 miles (7.6 km) south. FM 2299 was cancelled on May 23, 1956, and removed from the highway system because the county could not acquire right-of-way for the route.
Farm to Market Road 3240 (FM 3240) is located in Bandera County in the Texas Hill Country. FM 3240 begins at an intersection with RM 2828 northwest of Peaceful Valley Road. The highway travels in a generally southeast direction through hilly terrain and turns more in a southward direction at Sparrow Hawk Lane.
