yerzo. •. He's fine. I think Spike is a tough character to precisely transition into a live-action show. Choo did a good job in "translating" the character to that new medium. He didn't have the jazzy bluesy coolness to him, but he did have the calm demeanor, comfortable, relaxed, yet confident stride about him.
ADMIN MOD. I think John Cho deserves an apology. Short Post. I finished the LA series yesterday. Regardless of the divide on the community on whether we liked it or not, I think an appreciation post for John Cho is in order now that filming is over and the release is a few days out. As a community, this sub had a lot of doubt for Cho being able ...

John Cho's insights on Asian-American masculinity so spot on. John Cho gave an interview on the podcast Asian Enough. I found what he had to say about the Asian-American male experience so insightful and spot I wanted to share here: No one knows this except asian american men, at least for a portion of our lives, in our pocket is a clenched ...
But his best traits as an actor weren’t really compatible with Spike’s characterization. Everything that comes to him naturally is totally the wrong fit for that character. Cho has a natural optimism, sweetness, warmth and friendliness that tends to come through in all his performances. Spike is…none of those things.
John Cho was not "cancelled" for his comments (lately, he is joining Oscar Nominee Erick Oh’s Animated Short ‘Namoo’ As Executive Producer), and neither should Simu. It is ridiculous to think that either of these men have any association to "MRAsian incels".
Regardless of the divide on the community on whether we liked it or not, I think an appreciation post for John Cho is in order now that filming is over and the release is a few days out. As a community, this sub had a lot of doubt for Cho being able to play (what im sure many of us agree) one of the most beloved and unique main character of any ...
John Cho sucks major ass as Spike. Now that we've all seen it we can talk about it. John Cho didn't even watch the fucking anime, he's a terrible actor cause he can't even do basic ass homework for his role. The fighting scenes were ass. John Cho is hardly athletic, and it shows. They can't do a single fucking thing right in this anime.
Not to mention John Cho isn't an action star, and I expect to see a little bit of Spike's mixed martial arts in the series. I've said from the get go that he doesn't fit the role of Spike. Why not take the time to find some fresh meat/new blood. Sorry. I have a hard time believing that 1/2 of Harold and Kumar can accurately portray a Bounty hunter.
John Cho is so great. I don't know why he has such a hard time breaking through on television. He's a really funny guy. Everyone remembers him from "Harold & Kumar" or "Selfie," but he'll always be Teddy from "Kitchen Confidential" to me. I think he definitely would have given Nick a run for his money if Jess and Daniel had ever gotten together.
