The Miller opened in February 1940 with a sold-out performance of “A Night at the Moulin Rouge”, beginning what would be a 40-year run as one of Augusta's premier entertainment destinations. It was Augusta's first independent station, airing a collection of public domain black-and-white western movies, infomercials and programming such as Sewing with Nancy (unusual as that program was mainly offered for public television).
