During the late 1970s, on Data General Nova and Eclipse systems, the World Computer Corporation (doing credit union applications) created a date format with a 16-bit date field, which used seven bits for the year, four bits for the month, and five bits for the day. This allowed dates to be directly comparable using unsigned functions.
Excel maintains 15 figures in its numbers, but they are not always accurate; mathematically, the bottom line should be the same as the top line, in 'fp-math' the step '1 + 1/9000' leads to a rounding up as the first bit of the 14 bit tail '10111000110010' of the mantissa falling off the table when adding 1 is a '1', this up-rounding is not undone when subtracting the 1 again, since there is no ...
Certain data connections are not accessible on Excel for the web, including with charts that may use these external connections. Excel for the web also cannot display legacy features, such as Excel 4.0 macros or Excel 5.0 dialog sheets. There are also small differences between how some of the Excel functions work. [62]
Microsoft Excel (using the default 1900 Date System) cannot display dates before the year 1900, although this is not due to a two-digit integer being used to represent the year: Excel uses a floating-point number to store dates and times. The next line-width is not disturbed by large operators. The code for the math example reads: <math display= "inline" > \sum_{i=0}^\infty 2^{-i} </math> The quotation marks around inline are optional and display=inline is also valid. [2] Technically, the command \textstyle will be added to the user input before the TeX command is passed to the ...

Year sorting of a column works as long as the year is the first text in each cell in the column. Adding data-sort-type=date to the column header does not change this. Text is OK after a year in a cell. "FY" (fiscal year), for example, should go after the year. References after the year are OK.
