La Toilette is an oil-on-canvas painting by the 19th century French impressionist artist Frédéric Bazille, executed in 1869–1870, which has been in the collection of the Musée Fabre in Montpellier, France since 1968. He produced it a few months before his death in the Franco-Prussian War in 1870.
Another 1878 Manet painting of a similar scene of the Rue Mosnier, decorated with flags, is held in a private collection. Similar paintings of flags on the Rue Montorgueil and Rue Saint-Denis in Paris in 1878 were made by Claude Monet, and these works were echoed by a 1917 painting of New York by Childe Hassam, The Avenue in the Rain.
The paintings shows able-bodied soldiers who are still fighting, on the left, while they load a cannon and sound the charge. It also depicts the suffering of several civilians: an old man searches for his son among the corpses, a mother presents their deceased child to her husband, and a woman cries over the lifeless body of her husband.

The painting illustrates a busy Paris boulevard, showing the effects of industrialisation and Haussmannisation. The image is housed at the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
